You'll be interested in the background of our care systems, and be up to the challenges presented by a career in social care.
Where can it lead?
This qualification can open doors to a variety of career in the Social Care sector. Community care, housing, youth programmes and mental health support are just some of the areas in which you could find yourself. Further studies in social work or another related field could take you into a specialised role, either in the area of policy making or direct support. You'll also find that the general support skills you gain will be transferable to almost any career, whether it's in local government, charities, non-governmental Institutions, or the private sector.
Salary?
Given the variety of roles on offer - from grass roots community work to high level policy development - the range of salaries to be expected is extremely broad. As a guide, however, a graduate could expect a salary range of anywhere between £10,000 to £25,000, depending on the type of work you are undertaking. Further experience and training should lead to a rapid increase in salary.
Can I apply?

Period of study
You will study the equivalent of 18 x 20-credit modules over the course of the programme. Each module accounts for approximately 200 hours of study. You are given 8 years within which to complete the full degree.
