Caring in Context: Poverty, Exclusion & Care

You'll earn an Associate Certificate qualification from the University of East London, and 20 university credits that will count towards a higher award if you choose to continue your studies.

This course examines the role of social care in the context of vulnerable groups, such as children, young people, those who are homeless, unemployed or experiencing illness. It looks at the needs of these groups, and explores the nature of poverty. You'll look at the history of policy making, particularly in the European Union, examine the role of the media in social exclusion and poverty, and learn to analyse social care data and present statistical information.
