Who is it for?
You may wish to become a professional events planner, and have the chance to combine your qualities of enthusiasm, creativity and organisational ability into a satisfying career. Alternatively, you could be working in an administrative position that calls on event organisation as part of your role. You may even have a large event of your own to co-ordinate, such as a wedding or large party.
Where can it lead?
With an overwhelming array of options available for venues, entertainment, catering and other services, more and more people are turning to professional planners for help in organising their event. If you're taking this course with a career in mind, you could eventually find yourself working as a wedding planner, conference organiser or exhibition planner. Hotels and resorts also employ event planners to organise functions at their venue.
Salary?
Salaries in event planning vary widely depending on your level of experience and the type of organisation in which you are employed. For example, salaries may be extremely modest in the charitable sector, where you may be planning fundraising events, while a large corporation may pay extremely well for professional organisation of events involving high profile clients.
