Who is it for?
This course will appeal to anyone who would like to help people make positive health-related changes that will improve their quality of life. You may already be working in the a health-related field, and want to move into a sector that calls on counselling skills. Alternatively, you may be seeking a new career that offers greater personal satisfaction.
Where can it lead?
The qualification you gain from this course could take you into one of many roles in either the public or private sectors, working with families, individuals, youth programmes or community care, to name just a few. Charities also call on the skills you'll have developed, through programmes dealing with specific aspects of healthcare. You many decide to pursue a formal qualification in counselling, in which case this course provides the ideal stepping stone.
Salary?
Given the variety of roles on offer - from grass roots community work to high level policy development - the range of salaries to be expected is extremely broad. As a guide, however, a graduate could expect a salary range of anywhere between £10,000 to £25,000, depending on the type of work you are undertaking. Further experience and training should lead to a rapid increase in salary.
Can I apply?

Period of study
You will study the equivalent of 18 x 20-credit modules over the course of the programme. Each module accounts for approximately 200 hours of study. You are given 8 years within which to complete the full degree.
